VOLUNTEER NEEDED
Sungardens hospice has a need for the services of a volunteer with a specific skill set.
Position: The need is for someone with experience in Retail and/or Warehouse Management.
- Your expertise and skill will be valuable to us at our Charity shop as a mentor to the current staff members. Your knowledge of shop layout, franchising, pricing and customer service will be valuable to us in maximizing our service offerings to our customer base.
- Your imparting of knowledge on warehousing i.e. receiving, storage and processing will be of great value to our staff to enhance processes and procedures.

Capacity: To act as mentor/consultant to the Manager and team in the warehouse and shop with the aim of creating a shop and warehouse environment which is functioning optimally.
Motivation: Sungardens hospice provides palliative care to patients living with life-threatening diseases. Through a holistic approach family members of the patients are also supported in this journey. Most patients receive support via our home based care nurses and social workers. The charity shop serves as our main income generation stream and is therefore of extreme importance to core work we do as a hospice. Donations to the shop are the lifeblood feeding the important work we do to support patients from the start of their journey with a life-threatening disease to the end of this journey. Ongoing bereavement support to those who lost a family member forms part of the services we render and is also dependent on the income generated from the sales of good via the charity shop. The efficient working of the shop is thus a crucial element of the organization’s success.
Should you be open to this challenge please send your CV to:
